 A standard session is a weekly 53 minutes appointment which offers the most benefit especially while building therapeutic rapport.

If a client is returning to therapy after taking a break or has made notable progress and therapeutic rapport is established a shorter session of 45 minutes is offered or the option for bi-weekly. Once a client is in the maintenance stage they are offered the option of meeting every 3-weeks or once a month. 

If a client is doing EMDR, weekly sessions must be maintained unless the client is taking a break from this intervention.

 At this time all sessions are conducted virtually. 

Virtual sessions are a great option that allows for flexibility, however, virtual sessions are not appropriate for all clients or all issues. Clients who are assessed to benefit more from in-person sessions will receive a referral. 

To remain safe and HIPAA compliant,  sessions can only be conducted when the client is in a private space and not while driving a vehicle, in a public space (ie. shopping), or with other people present.

Clients are requested to not engage in any highly distracting activities. 

If a client requests to have a loved one involved in session this must be arranged ahead of time and appropriate paperwork filled out.  

If a session starts and one of these experiences is occurring and the client is unable to get to a quiet and private place shortly, the session will be cancelled and a late cancellation fee will apply.

All telehealth sessions are conducted on a HIPAA compliant platform and clients are emailed the link at least 24 hours prior to the session. 

 All clients are expected to show at the start time of the session. Clients are allowed to arrive up to 10 minutes late at which the session will be cancelled and client will be marked as a no-show. If a client is having difficulty with technology or is aware they will be late, they are requested to let Lakeview Healing, LLC know as soon as possible using the contact information provided during intake. 

If a client is more than 10-minutes late, the session will be cancelled and the client will be marked as a no-show. There will be a $75 fee for every no-show which will be charged to the card on file. 

Clients are requested to cancel session as soon as they are aware  they will be unable to make the session.  A 24-hr notice is the minimum.  For example, if a client has a session scheduled for Wednesday at 8:00 am they must cancel the session by Tuesday at 8:00 am to avoid the cancellation fee. Cancellations that occur after the 24-hr window will incur a late cancellation fee which is $75 and will be charged to the card on file.

If there are more than three late cancellations or no-shows termination and referral may occur. Additionally if there is excessive cancelations (ie canceling 50% of scheduled appointments) termination and referral may occur as progress cannot occur if there is inconsistency in attendance.

For self-pay clients, sessions are $150 per therapeutic hour (53 minutes) and $180 if EMDR is being utilized. 

Clients using insurance will provide information to Lakeview Healings, LLC's billing service who will conduct a free benefit verification and manage all billing for clients. Clients are responsible for informing Lakeview Healing, LLC and the billing company of any changes to their insurance coverage. If the client does not update either party, the client may potentially be responsible for the full cost of any sessions not covered by insurance. 

While the billing company does complete benefit verification, it is also highly recommended for clients to check with their insurance company, which can be done via the insurance company's app or website, to ensure coverage.

All balances must be paid in full each week, and if a  balance remains, clients will be notified one time through their preferred means of contact. If a client fails to pay any upcoming appointments will be canceled unless previous arrangements are made.

ESA: Due to being unable to meet and assess any animals and not having the appropriate training to complete ESA letters, Lakeview Healing, LLC does not write ESA letters and recommends a client to visit an in-person provider.

FMLA and disability paperwork: These letters/documents may be written depending on nature of the letter and length of therapeutic relationship. No supporting letters or documents will be written for clients in therapy less than 6 months.

With over 30 years of research, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced based intervention that can successfully treat phobias, traumas, and somatic issues. EMDR is fantastic when there is limited or no specific memories or a desire to minimize verbalize processing (traditional talk therapy).

There are very few situations where EMDR is not recommended and it is best to have a consultation to discuss your specific details.

Unless a client signs a release of information (ROI) all information is protected health information (PHI) and cannot be given out. Exceptions to this rule are: if a client's insurance company is requesting specific records; client discloses plan, means, and intent to harm themselves, a building with people inside, or a specific person; and although rarely if a client is involved in a court case the courts may attempt to subpoena records.

To reduce conflict of interest, we do not accept referrals from past or current clients when they are a close relative, roommate, or friends. This is to reduce any bias that make occur since relationships often come up in sessions. 

Referrals to  acquaintances, classmates, co-workers, or any other casual relationships are accepted as long as neither client or referral believe they will need to explore the relationship together.
